Running Biomechanics Case 1: Notes

A 34 year old woman presents to your clinic c/o (R) anterior knee pain. She has been on holidays and hasn’t run for 2 months. She began running 2/52 ago, returning to her usual schedule of 3x 4-5km runs per week. You perform a biomechanics assessment and find that she is an “overstrider”, has increased knee flexion at mid-stance, has a slow cadence and also poor pelvis/hip and knee control during stance. You diagnose her with patellofemoral pain.
