Osgood-Schlatters Case 1: Notes

Jackson is a 14 year old boy who has presented to your outpatient clinic complaining of a 6 months history of worsening right anterior knee pain. Jackson participates in competitive soccer and tennis weekly, and enjoys playing soccer most lunch times at school. There was no clear MOI and the pain has been progressively getting worse during the past 6 months. Jackson says his pain is normally worse when going up and down stairs at school, playing sports at lunchtime and also after activity. After resting for approximately 30 minutes the pain settles down to a 1/10. Jackson’s mother, who is present, states that Jackson has grown over 5 inches in the past year. Jackson has no relevant past medical history and has a healthy BMI for his age.
