COPD C1: Notes

You have been asked to assess Janet, a 53 year-old who has been recently diagnosed with COPD, following an acute exacerbation. Janet was brought into the emergency department by her husband yesterday, as she had severe SOB and a bad ‘wheeze’. She reports having difficulty hanging out the washing and other ADLs, needing her husbands assistance. The nurses note that her condition has remained stable overnight. She is alert and SUIB when you arrive at her room.
