Running Biomechanics: Case 2

A 56 year old elite level Masters runner presents to your clinic c/o (R) heel pain on running. He regularly competes in half-marathons, often running up to 70km a week. His pain started 3 weeks ago, as he returned to running after a 4 week break. He is still able to train, feeling pain initially in the run, but it eases after he “warms up”. The pain is always the most severe the morning after a run, often causing him to limp for up to an hour. PHx: (L) adhesive capsulitis 4 years ago, fully recovered.
